Since 2014, Metallomax, the manufacturer of REDLIFT lifting platforms, has been riding high. How did a company specializing in industrial equipment and custom transportation equipment succeed in becoming a leading figure in the design and manufacturing of motorized lifting systems in such a short time? Because its founders, Pascal and Maxime Picard, set themselves up for a great challenge: to bring to market an amped up lifting platform, building on their experience at Plafolift, the company founded by their father.

The Metallomax team has decades of experience in the design and manufacturing of lifting equipment. It is no surprise that their REDLIFT RLS 25, RLS 27, RLS 35, RLS 45 and RLS 57 lifting platforms have made a strong impact across the industrial, commercial and residential construction markets nationwide

Quebec’s Lift Platform Specialist

For over ten solid years, the manufacturer of REDLIFT RLS 25, RLS 27, RLS 35, RLS 45 and RLS 57 has been demonstrating its ingenuity and creativity in the design and manufacturing of lifting equipment to industrial, commercial and residential contractors across Quebec.

Located in Warwick, in central Quebec, the company was purchased by Namakor Holdings in 2025 and is now run by Vincent Tourangeau, with the ambition to elevate Metallomax to new heights and expand throughout North America, while continuing to serve a customer base with strict demands and requirements seeking superior quality products that go well beyond industry requirements and standards.

The Story of a Lifting Equipment Company with Big Dreams

2005

In May, Maxime and Pascal Picard found Metallomax, with the mission of designing and manufacturing custom transportation equipment such as truck beds and various utility trailers.

Their experience—over 40 years of combined experience in the manufacturing of lifting and transportation equipment—and their passion give them a clear, focused strategic vision and shared values. Maxime is the company’s president and handles sales, while Pascal leads design and production.

2006

Already, the factory’s 5,400 square feet have proved insufficient for its needs. An expansion is carried out to increase the area to 13,000 square feet, allowing for the installation of new high-performance equipment, including overhead cranes and lift tables. A paint booth using state-of-the-art technology has also been set up. In August of this same year, Caroline Picard joins her brothers. Caroline takes charge of administrative management, including cost accounting, in addition to supporting Maxime in sales.

2008

The company continues to reach new heights. In July, it becomes necessary to build offices and a two-storey warehouse. Its staff now numbers about ten employees: welders, machinists, technicians, a draftsman and administrative team members.

2009

In April, an interactive website is launched and quickly proves to be an effective communication tool for potential customers. The wide range of services offered by Metallomax is highlighted on the website. From here onwards, visits to the company’s website help establish new contacts and increase sales, particularly in the custom industrial equipment manufacturing sector.

The company’s base is becoming increasingly diverse. The order book includes customers from the delivery, distribution, landscaping, food and construction industries as well as provincial transportation departments.

Twelve employees now support leadership in achieving their growth and efficiency goals. For Metallomax, it is now possible to envision a future on a national scale and to expand its activities in the field of custom transportation equipment and custom industrial equipment manufacturing.

2011

In July, Transport Canada amends the national safety mark T05: final stage manufacturer—body or equipment installation. Later, in October, the company receives certification from the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) under CSA W47.1. Obtaining these two certifications paves the way for a new and very promising market.

2012

Since the beginning of the year, the complete overhaul of its website, combined with the strengthening of its position in a promising niche market, has enabled the company to experience renewed growth and to maintain a significant lead in the transportation and production industry on an international scale. Metallomax is very proud to be invited to bid for major projects for the Quebec Ministry of Transport, the City of Quebec, several trade schools, and major organizations in the central Quebec region. Metallomax is pursuing the challenges of the future with enthusiasm and confidence.

2013

The company successfully manufactures a line of custom industrial and transportation equipment. Metallomax now occupies an enviable position in the industry with its manufacturing of aluminum containers and truck platforms. The container manufacturer is expanding its field of expertise with innovative new products.

2014

An additional 8,000 square-foot building now houses the facilities needed to meet the growing demand for custom products and to manufacture new industrial equipment: a motorized lifting platform for the construction industry.

Designed for outdoor work at height, this adaptable and versatile platform meets the needs of a wide range of construction trades.

The new building is connected to the existing facility, promoting centralized production and improved cost efficiency.

2015

A growing demand for lifting products leads management to focus their activities in this direction. Two new models are designed and manufactured to meet the needs of various construction sectors.

2022

Metallomax develops a new product line—the RLS Series—to replace the RL Series. Updates to CSA standards (B354.6) push the team to reimagine Redlift safety systems, resulting in the safest platform on the market. Today’s Redlifts are born.

2025

Namakor, a Montreal-based private equity firm, purchases a majority stake of the business and names Vincent Tourangeau as CEO, with the mandate to propel Metallomax to new heights and help the business develop its markets throughout North America and beyond.
